The other fine print, still in plain English
Website Terms & Disclaimer
The short version: this site is here to genuinely help, the content is general information rather than professional advice, and AI always needs your human judgement. Here's the longer version.
The deal, in one paragraph
By using this website you agree to these terms. This site is run by Lisa Monks, founder of ChipMonk Media, based in Cairns, Queensland, Australia. If anything here doesn't sit right with you, the simple remedy is to stop using the site - or better, email me at lisa@lisamonks.com and we'll talk it through.
What this website's content is (and isn't)
Everything on this site - articles, guides, tips, tools recommendations, workshop material - is general information and education. It's written carefully and in good faith, but it isn't professional advice for your specific situation. It's not legal, financial, accounting or tax advice, and reading it doesn't make you my client.
Before you make a significant business decision, check the details with the right professional - your accountant, lawyer or adviser. I'll often say exactly that in the content itself, because I mean it.
The AI disclaimer
A lot of this site talks about AI tools - ChatGPT, Claude, NotebookLM and others. Two honest cautions come with that.
First, AI tools change fast. A feature, price or limit described here may have changed since the page was written. Always check the tool itself before relying on a detail.
Second, AI tools can be confidently wrong. Anything an AI produces for your business - copy, summaries, calculations, advice - needs your human judgement before you act on it or publish it. That's not fine print; it's the single most important thing I teach: AI drafts, you decide.
Affiliate links
Some links on this site (mainly on the Tools of the Trade page) are affiliate links - if you sign up through them, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. I only recommend tools I genuinely use in my own business, and affiliate links are marked. A commission never decides what I recommend.
Testimonials
The testimonials on this site are real words from real people, published with their permission and quoted as they wrote them. They describe those people's experiences - your results will depend on your business, your effort and your circumstances.
Copyright and using my content
The content on this site - words, images of me, guides and downloads - belongs to ChipMonk Media unless otherwise credited. You're welcome to share links to it, quote short excerpts with credit, and use anything I've given you (like a downloaded guide) for your own business. Please don't republish, resell or pass my content off as your own - if you'd like to use something more substantially, just ask: lisa@lisamonks.com.
External links
This site links out to other websites - tools, resources, podcasts, profiles. I don't control those sites, and a link isn't a guarantee of what you'll find there. Their terms and privacy policies apply once you're on them.
Services are covered separately
These terms cover the website. If we work together - consulting, training, workshops, speaking or social media management - that engagement is covered by its own proposal, quote or agreement, which takes precedence for that work.
Liability, within the law
I take real care with what I publish, but I can't promise the site will always be error-free, complete, up to date or uninterrupted. To the extent permitted by law, I'm not liable for loss arising from your use of this website or reliance on its general information. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that can't be excluded.
Privacy
How I handle your information has its own plain-English page - the Privacy Policy, linked in the footer.
Changes, and the boring details
I may update these terms as the site evolves - the date below always tells you when they were last reviewed. These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Questions? lisa@lisamonks.com. Last reviewed: 8 July 2026.
